5ENGENGLISHASSEMBLING AND PREPARINGSetting up the Monitor set Mounting on a table1 Lift and tilt the Monitor set into its upright position on a table.Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.2 Connect the Power Cord to a wall outlet.3 Press button on the front switch panel to turn the power on. Prevent the product from moving when users touch the screen. yThe state which the stand locking handle is released yThe state which the stand locking handle is lockedDetaching the StandThis Monitor set satisfies the specifications of the Wall mount plate or the interchange device.1 Place the monitor with its front facing downward on a soft cloth.2 Separate the head and the stand with the use of a screwdriver.3 Remove 4 screws and pull out the Stand from the Monitor set.

Otherwise electric shock may occur. yIf you install the Monitor set on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or qualified personnel. y Do not over tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the Monitor set and void your warranty. y Use the screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty. yUse the screws that are listed on the VESA standard screw specifications. yThe wall mount kit includes an installation manual and necessary parts. yThe wall mount bracket is optional. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer. yThe length of screws may differ depending on the wall mount. 9ENGENGLISHUSING THE MONITOR SET yThe display link and EST network USB setting utility should already be installed before connecting the power cable for the 2nd POS (monitor). yAs of April 2011, the host POS authorized by the network POS is the HANASIS MICUS37 model. For additional models, visit http://networkmonitor.lge.com. yThe warranty does not cover any damage caused by the use of products other than the authorized host POS. yThe LAN and USB cables are optional. You can purchase them from an electronics store, online stores, or your local LG stockist. yYou can connect up to five monitors to the host POS. 15ENGENGLISHTROUBLESHOOTINGTROUBLESHOOTINGCheck the following before calling for service.No image appearsIs the power cord of the display connected? yCheck and see if the power cord is connected properly to the power outlet.Is the power indicator light on? yPress the Power button.Is the power on and the power indicator blue or green? yAdjust the brightness and the contrast.Is the power indicator flickering? yIf the display is in power saving mode, try moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard to bring up the screen. yTry to turn on the PC.Do you see a "OSD LOCKED" message on the screen?Do you see “OSD LOCKED” when you push MENU button? yYou can secure the current control settings, so that they cannot be inadvertently changed. You can unlock the OSD controls at any time by pushing the MENU button for several seconds: the message y“OSD UNLOCKED” will appear.Display image is incorrectThe screen color is mono or abnormal. yCheck if the signal cable is properly connected and use a screwdriver to fasten if necessary. yMake sure the video card is properly inserted in the slot. ySet the color setting higher than 24 bits (Color Quality) at Control Panel ► Settings.The screen blinks. yCheck if the screen is set to interlace mode and if yes, change it to the recommend resolution.Touch screen does not work.Did you install the touch screendriver? yInstall the touch screen driver on the installation CD bundled with the product. yMake sure that the USB cable for touch screen is connected to your PC. yMake sure your PC and accessories are USB-enabled.

Regulatory Information cont. 02Why do we have environmentally labelled computers?In many countries, environmental labelling has become anestablished method for encouraging the adaptation ofgoods and services to the environment. With the growingmanufacture and usage of electronic equipmentthroughout the world, there is a recognized concern for thematerials and substances used by electronic productswith regards to their eventual recycling and disposal. Byproper selection of these materials and substances, theimpact on the environment can be minimized.There are also other characteristics of a computer, such asenergy consumption levels, that are important from theviewpoints of both the work (internal) and natural (external)environments. Electronic equipment in offices is often leftrunning continuously, resulting in unnecessaryconsumption of large amounts of energy and additionalpower generation. From the standpoint of carbon dioxideemissions alone, it is vital to save energy.What does labelling involve?The product meets the requirements for the TCO’99scheme which provides for international and environmentallabelling of personal computers and/or displays. The labelling scheme was developed as a joint effort by the TCO (The Swedish Confederation of ProfessionalEmployees), Svenska Naturskyddsforeningen (The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation) andStatens Energimyndighet (The Swedish NationalEnergy Administration).Approval requirements cover a wide range of issues:ecology, ergonomics, emission of electrical and magneticalfields, energy consumption and electrical safety. Ecological criteria impose restrictions on the presence anduse of heavy metals, brominated and chlorinated flameretardants, and other substances. The product must beprepared for recycling and the manufacturing site(s) shallbe certified according to ISO14001 or EMAS registered.Energy requirements include a demand that the systemunit and/or display, after a certain period of inactivity,shall reduce its power consumption to a lower level in oneor more stages. Many flame retardantscontain bromine or chlorine, and these flame retardantsare chemically related to PCBs (polychlorinatedbiphenyls). Both the flame retardants containing bromineor chlorine and the PCBs are suspected of giving rise tohealth effects, including reproductive damage in fish-eating birds and mammals, due to the bio-accumulative*processes when not disposed of in accordance with strictstandards for disposal.TCO’99 requires that plastic components weighing morethan 25 grams shall not contain flame retardants withorganically bound bromine or chlorine. Flame retardantsare allowed in the printed wiring board laminates due tothe lack of commercially available alternatives.Cadmium**Cadmium is present in rechargeable batteries and in thecolour-generating layers of certain computer displays.TCO’99 requires that batteries, the colour-generatinglayers of display screens, and the electrical or electronicscomponents shall not contain any cadmium.Mercury**Mercury is sometimes found in batteries, relays andswitches. TCO’99 requires that batteries shall not containany mercury. It also demands that mercury is not presentin any of the electrical or electronics componentsassociated with the labelled unit. There is however one

TCO aims onremoving this exception when a mercury free alternative isavailable.Lead**Lead can be found in picture tubes, display screens,solders and capacitors.
