INSTALLATION STEPS !!!! !!!!! Unpack your new SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor. This package also includes 1 power adapter. ! ! Plug the power adapter into the USB connector on the bottom of the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor, and then plug into a power outlet. !!!!!!!!!Place the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor in a convenient location for example on your Refrigerator. ! It may take up to 15 minutes for the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor to receive its first “read” from your Smart Meter. !!!GETTING STARTED TIPS !ESTABLISH AN ENERGY BASELINE By turning off and unplugging all electrical devices (lights, A/C, appliances), you can establish a “ baseline” of electricity usage. Make note of your baseline energy rate shown on your SmartLook™ home energy Monitor. As you turn devices back on, you can view the incremental electricity each device uses. ! ALLEVIATE UNEXPECTED HIGH BILL AMOUNTS Refer often to the “Home” and “Cost” screens to keep track of your estimated energy cost and usage. If your costs begin to rise unexpectedly, compare your current usage with your baseline or last week’s usage and determine if any unnecessary electricity is being used. REVIEW BEFORE LEAVING HOME Review the SmartLook™ home energy Monitor prior to leaving the house. If the electricity usage is higher than your baseline, you’ll know additional items were left on. BUTTON OVERVIEW Your SmartLook™™ Home Energy Monitor comes with six (6) buttons on the top right hand corner that help you control the user interface (see the button image on the left). Throughout this Quick Start Guide you will be instructed to press these buttons to navigate from screens to screen.!! “Home” SCREEN The “ Home” screen provides several pieces of important information to help you establish your baseline of your energy cost and usage. The screen contains your cost per hour, your usage in Kilowatts per hour and your total cost for the day. The “Home” screen is the default screen for your SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor appearing on the screen when it is not in use. “Main Menu” SCREEN You can navigate to the “Main Menu” screen anytime by pressing the “HOME” button. Once this screen appears you can use the rest of the buttons in the top right hand corner (see “BUTTON OVERVIEW” above for more details). From this screen you can gain access to several menu items to help you better understand your energy costs and usage. ! !
ADJUSTING THE ENERGY PRICE Your SmartLook™™ Home Energy Monitor arrives preconfigured with an 11.0¢ (eleven cents) electricity charge per kWh. Please review your Energy bill and locate your actual electricity charge per kWh. Begin by pressing the “HOME” button on the top right hand corner of your SmartLook™™ Home Energy Monitor this will take you to the “Main Menu” screen. From the “Main Menu” screen press the Right button until the “SETTINGS” box is highlighted then press the Select button. From the “Settings” screen press the Right button until the “ENERGY PRICE” box is highlighted then press the Select button. From the “Energy Price” screen press the “RIGHT” or “LEFT” button to toggle between the numbers. Press the “UP” or “DOWN” button to increase or decease the number within the highlighted box. Once the number on the screen matches your Wireless Glue Pricing Plan simply press the “HOME” button. Pressing the “HOME” button will save your change and return the screen to the “Main Menu”. ! !
WIRELESS GLUE NETWORKS TERMS AND CONDITIONS, LIMITED WARRANTY !!LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE Wireless Glue’s obligations for the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor are limited to the terms set forth below: Wireless Glue Networks, Inc. (“Wireless Glue”) warrants the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of acquisition (the “Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received by Wireless Glue within the Warranty Period, at its option Wireless Glue will (1) repair the product at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or (2) replace the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product. Wireless Glue warrants replacement products or parts provided under this Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of the replacement or repair for twelve (12) months or for the remaining portion of the original product’s Warranty Period, whichever is longer. Wireless Glue does not warrant that the operation of any product will be uninterrupted or error-free. Wireless Glue is not responsible for any damage that occurs as a result of your failure to follow the instructions that came with the product. This product is not specifically developed for and is not intended for use with any equipment in any nuclear, aviation, mass transit, or medical applications, or in any inherently dangerous applications. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, WIRELESS GLUE MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WIRELESS GLUE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS NOT STATED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY BE IMPOSED BY LAW, TO THE EXTENT THAT THEY CANNOT BE LAWFULLY DISCLAIMED OR EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW A LIMITATION ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE EXCLUSION OF LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR CONSUMER PRODUCTS. IN SUCH STATES, SOME EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. These terms and conditions constitute the complete and exclusive warranty agreement between you and Wireless Glue regarding the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor Components you have purchased. These terms and conditions supersede any prior agreements or representations – including representations made in Wireless Glue sales literature or advice given to you by Wireless Glue or an agent or employee of Wireless Glue – that may have been made in connection with your purchase of the Wireless Glue brand product. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS This Limited Warranty applies only to the Wireless Glue SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor. This Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Wireless Glue hardware product or any software, even if it is used in conjunction with the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor. Non-Wireless Glue manufacturers or suppliers may provide a separate warranty for their own products packaged with the SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor. Wireless Glue is not liable for any damage or loss to any programs, data, or other information stored on or connected to any SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor, or a non-Wireless Glue product or part not covered by this Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or non-Wireless Glue SmartLook™ Home Energy Monitor Component products; (b) to damage caused by service performed by anyone other than Wireless Glue; (c) to a product or part that has been modified without the written permission of Wireless Glue; or (d) if any Wireless Glue serial number has been removed or defaced. IF YOUR WIRELESS GLUE SMARTLOOK™ HOME ENERGY MONITOR FAILS TO WORKS AS WARRANTED ABOVE, YOUR SOLE AND EXLCUSIVE REMEDY SHALL BE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. WIRELESS GLUE’S MA XIMUM LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY HARDWARE COMPONENTS THAT MALFUNCTION UNDER CONDITIONS OF NORMAL USE. WIRELESS GLUE IS NOT RESPONSEIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE PRODUCT OR THE FAILURE OF THE PRODUCT TO PERFORM, INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITS OR SAVINGS OR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY INCLUDING ANY FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA STORED ON OR TRANSMITTED BY THE PRODUCT. WIRELESS GLUE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CLAIM MADE BY A THIRD PARTY OR MADE BY YOU FOR A THIRD PARTY.
THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES WHETHER DAMAGES ARE SOUGHT OR A CLAIM IS MADE UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR AS A TORT CLAIM (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT PRODUCT LIABILITY), A CONTRACT CLAIM, OR ANY OTHER CLAIM. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY CANNOT BE WAIVED OR AMENDED BY ANY PERSON. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY WILL BE EFFECTIVE EVEN IF YOU HAVE ADVISED WIRELESS GLUE OR AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF WIRELESS GLUE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, HOWEVER, WILL NOT APPLY TO CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. YOU ARE ADVISED TO CONSULT APPLICABLE STATE LAWS FOR A FULL DETERMINATION OF YOUR RIGHTS. IMPORTANT CONSUMER INFORMATION CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS NOT EXPRESSLY APPROVED BY WIRELESS GLUE COULD VOID YOUR AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THE PRODUCT. IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH FCC RF EXPOSURE REQUIREMENTS, THIS DEVICE MUST BE INSTALLED TO PROVIDE A SEPARATION DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 20 CM FROM ALL PERSONS AND MUST NOT BE CO-LOCATED OR OPERATING IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY OTHER ANTENNA OR TRANSMITTER.
